The Horizon is a though Frisian Tjalk that was built in 2005.
We primarily sail the Ijsselmeer and Dutch wadden.

Sailing on the Horizon can be combined with a visit to the steampumping station in Medemblik, the Zuiderzee Museum in Enkhuizen or the Batavia in Lelystad. The skipper has an interesting collention of books with beautiful pictures and old drawings of old ships, land reclamation, historic cities and villages and other interesting facts. On the sailingroute you can compare the past and present time with the ship’s library.
Active sailing or relax on deck and enjoy the peace and the view. The options are endless.
From one of our homeports, Den Oever or Medemblik, your sailing adventure will start. Departure from another harbour can be arranged as well.
The ship is suitable for 12 persons.
